Late afternoon sun spills across the worn stone facade of a colonial building in Cusco, illuminating a small workshop doorway where a local artisan pauses. The warm light catches the rough texture of adobe bricks and the smooth, dark wood of a heavy door frame. On a low wooden bench just inside the threshold, a pair of worn leather slippers sits next to a shallow terracotta bowl filled with vibrant red clay. A striped woven fabric, typical of Andean textiles, drapes over the edge of a nearby chair, its bright colors against the earthy tones of the wall.
