First light after rain washes over a narrow Edinburgh close, turning the wet sandstone walls into a deep, saturated ochre that reflects the pale grey sky. A woman in a sharp, crimson trench coat strides purposefully past a traditional tenement door, her heels clicking on the slick granite setts. She carries a sleek black umbrella, its surface beaded with droplets that catch the diffuse daylight. The architectural detail is crisp: the rough texture of the masonry contrasts with the smooth, glossy finish of the wet pavement. A brass door knocker glints faintly near her shoulder, a small point of metallic warmth against the cool, damp tones of the stone.
