Solitary Figure in Edinburgh

First light after rain washes over Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, turning the granite pavement into a slick, reflective mirror that catches the grey sky. A solitary figure in a dark coat walks away from the camera, their silhouette blurred by the wet atmosphere and distant motion. To the left, the heavy timber door of a centuries-old shop stands slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of warm interior light spilling onto the damp stone step. Raindrops rest on the ironwork of a nearby streetlamp, dripping steadily onto the pavement.
