Window Box in Porto

A small window box filled with damp, dark soil sits on a stone ledge overlooking the misty Douro river in Porto. Condensation rests on the rim of the terracotta pot, blurring the edges of the few resilient green shoots emerging from the earth. The gray light of dawn diffuses through the fog, softening the texture of the rough stone wall behind the planter. One water droplet hangs precariously from the edge of a wet leaf, catching the faint ambient glow of the city below.
