Whitewashed Stupa Prayer Wheels at Chongqing Altar

Early summer dawn light falls through a thick haze of incense smoke, illuminating a whitewashed stupa ringed by wooden prayer wheels at its base. The structure stands before a rough stone altar, its smooth plaster surface reflecting faint highlights from the low-angle light. Wooden cylinders line the foundation, their aged grain visible beneath the dust. The air glows with a soft, diffused quality as the smoke hangs suspended, softening the edges of the stone blocks. Shadows stretch long across the floor, while the polished metal of the prayer wheel handles catches small points of brightness. One beam of light cuts through the haze, resting on the base of the stupa.
