Winter noon light falls through the heavy fog of a Porto balcony, illuminating a cluttered work surface where a white dog rests its chin on a tart tin filled with dark cabbages. The foreground is defined by the rough texture of wet stone and a grater resting near a kettle lid that bears a thin grease sheen from recent cooking. In the background, the iconic red-tiled roofs of the Ribeira district fade into the mist, providing a distinct local anchor to the scene.
