Late afternoon light streams through a high northern window, illuminating a cloud of white chalk dust suspended above a barbell. A weightlifter grips the bar, muscles taut, standing on a polished concrete floor that reflects the overhead beams. The room features rough-hewn wooden beams and open brickwork typical of a Mogadishu workshop. Water droplets rest on the window frame, evidence of the wet season outside. Small highlights dance across the chrome plates and the athlete's glistening skin. Dust motes swirl in the narrow beam of light, settling slowly on the floor near the lifter's boots. The polished surface of a nearby metal table catches a sharp reflection of the window's bright rim.
