Weathered Wooden Stool in Athens
by Albert Horn
A weathered wooden stool sits on the rough concrete floor of a sun-drenched courtyard in Athens, its legs splayed slightly under the weight of years. Flat noon light washes over the pale, grainy wood, highlighting the dust settled in the crevices and the faint scratches on the seat. Behind the stool, a white stucco wall shows signs of age with peeling paint and small cracks running vertically down the surface. One dried palm frond lies on the ground near the front leg, its brown, brittle leaves against the bright stone.
