Weathered Trucker Face in Guwahati Morning Light
by Amber Baxter
Bright midmorning sunlight floods the public square in Guwahati, illuminating the deep furrows of a long-haul trucker's face. Low-hanging clouds diffuse the harshness, casting soft shadows across weathered skin marked by years of driving. The subject sits in a vehicle, the dashboard instruments glowing with cool blue and green digital numbers that reflect faintly on the brow. Late autumn air hangs heavy, suggested by the slight chill in the light. The tight close-up framing isolates the face against a blurred background of stone pavement and distant figures. Wrinkles around the eyes catch the ambient light, revealing a texture of rough leather and fatigue. One reflection of a digital clock glows on the cheekbone, at the base of the human presence in the mechanical details of the cabin.
