A weathered wooden park bench sits on the gravel path of Kings Park, facing the distant skyline under a pale winter sun. The slats of the bench are bleached by the strong overhead light, revealing the rough texture of the timber grain. One red gum leaf rests near the edge, against the dull grey of the stone base. The shadow of the bench stretches long and sharp across the dry grass.
