Weathered Gasket Tin on Mexican Ranch Ground in inside a ranch corral in Mexico

Weathered Gasket Tin on Mexican Ranch Ground

by Janet O'Donnell

A rusted parlor pulsator gasket tin rests on damp concrete within a ranch corral in Mexico during late autumn. Steel-blue evening light washes over the surface, highlighting the pitted texture of the metal and the gray moisture soaking the ground. Thin drifts of straw lie scattered near the edges, where faint wash marks stain the concrete. Ground fog pools in the low corners of the corral, softening the transition between the foreground object and the distant fence lines. The scene recedes in layers, showing the rough wooden posts of the enclosure fading into the mist. A sharp edge of rust on the tin catches the dim light, against the smooth, wet stone beneath it.
