Watermelon Slicer at Bhopal Spice Stall

Thick humid air hangs heavy at a Bhopal market stall as a vendor slices a watermelon into tasting wedges. Sunset light frames the figure in sharp silhouette against the glowing red fruit and stacked spices. Heavy gray smoke does not rise but pours downward like thick liquid, coating the red clay floor and pooling around the vendor's feet. The steam moves with the weight of water, creating visible ripples as it flows over the wooden table legs and spice sacks. Dust motes suspended in the down-flowing vapor catch the low sun, turning the humid post-rain atmosphere into a tangible, downward-moving substance. The vendor's knife catches a final glint of light as the heavy vapor settles against the colorful turmeric and chili piles.
