Under the flat, washed-out glare of noon, a street-side food stall in Phuket reveals its working heart. A vendor’s arm, dusted with flour, extends over a stainless steel prep table where a shallow reflection on brushed steel catches the harsh overhead sun. Next to a chipped ceramic pot lid used as a makeshift weight, a small orange cat sits perched on the edge of the counter, watching the activity with indifferent focus.
