Pale projector light cuts through the dark interior, illuminating dust particles suspended in the shaft above a wooden floor. Wet, dark leather boots rest against the metal leg of a folded canvas chair near the wall. Beside the lectern, thick stacks of acetate maps lie flat, their surfaces catching the faint glow. Marker pens sit scattered on the table surface with caps secured. Folded chairs line the corridor walls in tight, orderly rows. The dark walls absorb most of the light, leaving the corners in shadow while the dust swirls visibly in the beam. A scuff mark on the boot sole matches the wet patch on the floorboard at the edge of the light.
