Walnut Minbar Ivory Inlays Al Quoz Mosque

Pale afternoon light floods the nave of a mosque in Al Quoz, Dubai, bouncing softly off walls of smooth, unadorned plaster. Centered in the frame stands a wooden minbar pulpit carved from dark walnut, its steps rising in a gentle curve. Intricate ivory inlays trace geometric patterns along the handrails and side panels, catching the ambient glow with a cool, matte sheen. The wood grain runs vertically, deep and rich against the bright surroundings. The pulpit rests on a flat stone floor, casting a short, soft shadow beneath its base. A small crack in the lower step reveals the raw texture of the walnut beneath the polished surface.
