Vietnamese Pagoda Courtyard Finland Morning

Curved eaves with upturned corners define the edge of a traditional Vietnamese pagoda courtyard beside a calm sacred pool in Finland. Rows of aged bonsai trees sit in glazed ceramic pots along the stone path, while long, braided incense coils hang suspended from dark wooden beams. Deep shadow covers the structure, yet early morning light falls through heavy overcast skies to outline the roofline with a faint silver rim. Moss rests on the stone lanterns near the water, and the still surface of the pool reflects the muted gray of the clouds and the dark silhouette of the temple roof. One coil hangs lower than the others, its tip resting just above a puddle on the flagstones.
