A wet Havana street glistens under the bruised purple light of dusk as a vendor’s stall stands out against the gloom. Rain slicks the colorful ceramic tiles lining the stall’s counter, reflecting the neon pink of a nearby pharmacy sign. A hand, adorned with a tarnished charm bracelet, reaches past a stack of faded postcards to adjust a glass jar of dark rum. The charm bracelet catches a sharp rim light, against the rough, hand-painted rowboat model sitting nearby. Mosaic tile fragments embedded in the stall’s wall add texture to the damp air.
