Vendor Cart in Tokyo

Mist rests on the narrow alleyway of a Tokyo residential block, softening the sharp edges of corrugated iron and weathered concrete. A lone vendor’s cart sits abandoned near a closed shutter, its metal surface slick with condensation. Resting on the cart’s edge are two chipped ceramic tea kettles, their dark glaze reflecting the pale, diffused dawn light. Nearby, a stack of blank notebooks leans against a crate, their white covers stark against the damp gray surroundings. The scene is quiet, devoid of people, yet full of the residual energy of early morning preparations. Steam rises faintly from a small vent, blending with the fog.
