Trumpet Mute on Hotel Dresser in Sumbawanga

Copper-toned light spills across a wooden dresser surface, illuminating a brass trumpet mute centered in the frame. The instrument rests on a textured fabric mat, its polished metal catching the fading golden hour glow. Dry season air leaves the room clear, allowing sharp, muted reflections to slide along the floor beneath the furniture. The matte finish of the wooden grain contrasts with the smooth, cool curves of the brass. Shadows lengthen softly around the base of the mute, at the base of the object in the quiet stillness of the backstage room. A faint sheen of dust settles on the dresser edge, marking the passage of the day.
