Trulli Village Passageway Late Afternoon Light

by Diane Holden

Whitewashed conical roofs of traditional trulli structures rise steeply against a pale blue sky within a narrow stone passageway. Dappled sunlight falls through fresh early spring leaves, casting shifting patterns of bright yellow and soft gray across the rough limestone walls. The low angle emphasizes the towering height of the dry-stone architecture, where weathered textures meet smooth lime wash. Shadows stretch long and cool along the cobblestone floor, against the warm patches of direct sun hitting the curved roof edges. One dark shadow from a leaf rests sharply on the white plaster near the base of a wall, defining the boundary between light and shade.
