Train Light Trail on Taoyuan Causeway at Twilight in on a wind-open causeway near Taoyuan

Train Light Trail on Taoyuan Causeway at Twilight

by Bill Campbell

Steel-blue twilight washes the wind-open causeway near Taoyuan while steady rain slicks the concrete surfaces. A long exposure shows the train as a continuous streak of white and red light cutting horizontally across the dark frame. Raindrops hang suspended in the air, visible as faint vertical streaks against the deepening sky. The low angle emphasizes the massive, dark silhouette of the train cars against the glowing path. Wet asphalt reflects the ambient light, creating a mirror-like sheen that stretches toward the horizon. Overhead, metal support beams of the station roof cut sharp geometric lines into the gray atmosphere. at the edge is a single red taillight marker burning bright at the very edge of the light trail.
