Winter noon light strikes the corrugated iron roof of a heritage warehouse in North Adelaide, casting sharp, geometric shadows across the brickwork. Below, a tradesman pauses on a scaffold, his leather tool roll slung over a shoulder, the worn leather against the fresh grey of his high-vis vest. He holds a coffee mug in one hand, steam rising faintly into the crisp air, while his other hand rests near a folding ruler tucked into his belt. The street below is quiet, lined with eucalyptus trees shedding dry leaves onto the damp pavement. A distant bell from a nearby church tower is not visible but implied by the stillness.
