Pale sunlight breaks through gray clouds to illuminate a wooden valet stand stacked with crisp white towels. Wet concrete surrounds the structure, holding shallow puddles that ripple slightly on the patio stones. Water droplets coat the towel edges and darken the corners of the topmost folded rectangles. The wooden slats of the stand show a deepened grain where rain has settled. In the background, distant Andean peaks rise against a washed-out sky, marking the high-altitude landscape of Oruro. The towels rest in orderly rows beside the stand, ready for guests. One folded towel sits at the very edge of the shelf, its corner touching a small puddle.
