Heavy steel chains coil in tight spirals within a weathered metal rack standing along the edge of a paved flight line. Predawn darkness swallows the foreground, while a faint rim of cool blue light defines the sharp edges of the tires and the rusted texture of the chain links. Raindrops streak across the dark tarmac, catching the minimal light from distant floodlights that glow like distant stars. The concrete surface reflects the wet sheen of a passing summer shower, creating a slick, mirror-like quality beneath the heavy equipment. Shadows stretch long and deep, obscuring the background while the metallic curves of the rack stand out in stark silhouette against the grey sky.
