Pale indirect light bounces off the smooth, off-white walls of the Tianjin sorting facility, illuminating a row of brown paper manifest pouches suspended on a metal drying line. The pouches hang in disciplined alignment, their surfaces showing real wear with creased edges and faded tape marks. Late afternoon window light casts soft, elongated shadows across the concrete floor, highlighting the dust motes dancing in the air. The metallic sheen of the conveyor belt contrasts with the matte texture of the drying bags. A few autumn leaves have settled on the far edge of the sorting belt, adding a touch of seasonal color to the industrial gray.
