Tea Shed Baskets Drying Beside Hay at Sunset

by Marc Howe

Low golden sunlight skims across the tops of stacked hay bales, casting long, sharp shadows that stretch toward a rustic tea plantation shed. The structure features a corrugated metal roof with weathered eaves, from which woven baskets hang in neat rows to dry. These baskets, made of dark, fibrous material, catch the warm glow of the setting sun against the cool, muted greens of the surrounding landscape. The hay bales, bound with twine, create a textured wall of pale gold next to the shed's rough wooden supports. Shadows deepen under the eaves, against the bright, sunlit tops of the hay. At the edge rests a single wicker basket hanging slightly lower than the rest, its woven pattern catching the last rays of light.
