Tailor Shears in Nairobi

A weathered wooden stool sits on the damp concrete floor of a Nairobi workshop, supporting a pair of heavy tailor shears that gleam under the dim, flickering overhead light. Rain streaks against the high, wire-mesh window behind the tools, blurring the darkening street outside into a smear of grey and indigo. The metal blades of the shears are slightly rusted at the hinges, resting open on the rough surface of the wooden seat. Water droplets rest on the black handles, reflecting the faint glow of a nearby fluorescent tube.
