Deep indigo shadows swallow the loading dock lane, while a sharp rim of twilight blue outlines the edges of stacked wooden crates. The symmetrical arrangement creates a rigid corridor leading toward the dark warehouse interior. Red and green plastic bins sit atop the weathered wood, their surfaces reflecting the faint ambient light of the early spring evening. Two handheld scanners rest on the top crate in the center, their small screens dark and inactive. The concrete floor shows faint tire marks and scattered leaves. One metal latch on the nearest crate catches the cool edge of the sky, defining the boundary between the shadowed yard and the fading daylight.
