Amber light from the setting sun pools across a wooden sushi paddle shelf inside a retail floor near Ulaanbaatar. The low angle of the early winter sun casts long, warm shadows that stretch along the polished wood grain and rest against empty stainless steel trays. Dust motes hang in the beams of light falling across the lower shelves, untouched during the quiet reset interval. The golden reflections slide over the smooth surfaces of the display, highlighting the vertical grain of the wood beside the cool metal edges. At the very edge of the frame, a faint scratch on the wood catches the fading glow.
