On the wooden service ledge, a glass sugar jar and a small bowl of local pastries sit near a worn desk brush used to sweep crumbs. The quiet, industrial reality of the city before the tourists arrive, with condensation beading on the glass and the deep shadows of the early morning hour settling over the worn surfaces.
