Early morning light spills through the rain-streaked window of a Capitol Hill laundromat, illuminating a plastic rack where damp shirts hang in heavy folds. A silver coffee grinder sits abandoned on a cracked laminate counter next to a stack of faded laundry tickets and a chipped ceramic bowl holding loose change. Outside, the wet asphalt of Pike Street reflects the soft pink glow of dawn, while a nearby bus stop shelter stands empty against the gray sky. The quiet exhaustion of the city waking up, with condensation dripping slowly from the ceiling vents onto a worn sketchbook left open on a bench.
