The flat noon light washes out the colors, showing the texture of the weathered timber and the faded blue paint. On the small concrete step beside the chair, a ceramic pitcher sits next to a stack of local paperbacks, their spines cracked from use. Scratches mark the rim of a nearby stainless steel sink, hinting at daily chores, while soap streaks dry on the white tiled wall above. A straight razor lies on a towel, its blade catching no shine in the diffuse light.
