Stacked Siding Planks on Muddy Road After Rain

Soft, diffused light from a late afternoon sky illuminates a stack of unpainted wooden siding planks resting on a churned mud track. The wood grain appears damp and darkened by recent rain, while a sheet of white building wrap flutters violently at the top of the pile, caught in a gust of humid air. The ground is a mix of grey clay and puddles reflecting the overcast sky, with deep tire ruts cutting through the mud near the lumber. In the background, blurred green and brown vegetation suggests a South African autumn landscape, where fallen leaves litter the roadside. A metal stake driven into the earth beside the planks holds the scene together against the wind. The texture of the rough-sawn wood contrasts sharply with the slick, wet mud beneath it.
