Speckled Stoneware Glaze in Kochi

A speckled stoneware glaze covers the curved surface of a clay pot resting on a wooden railing in Kochi. The overcast midday light reflects softly off the wet, uneven texture of the ceramic without creating harsh shadows. Rainwater droplets rest on the rim, blurring the background of green foliage and distant building edges. One drop of water slides slowly down the side of the vessel.
