Brick lecture walls in Veliko Tarnovo frame a courtyard where students in uniform move as dark shapes against a heavy overcast sky. The first bell marks the shift from quiet to motion, their figures caught in the soft, diffused backlight of early twilight. Peak autumn colors linger on the few remaining leaves scattered across the damp pavement, creating patches of rust and gold that contrast with the cool gray of the stone. Heavy clouds press low, flattening the light into a uniform glow that erases shadows and turns the group into a collective silhouette. The brickwork shows texture and age, while the students' movement suggests a shared rhythm. One fallen leaf rests on the wet ground near the base of a stone pillar.
