The morning light spills over the terracotta roofs of Florence, casting long shadows across a narrow cobblestone street. An elderly shopkeeper in a faded apron stands before a wooden door, his hand gripping the brass deadbolt as he turns it to open the shuttered storefront. Beside him on the step rests a worn leather shoehorn, left there after a quick adjustment. The air is clear, devoid of festival colors or dust, revealing the textured stone facade and the quiet routine of the city waking up.
