Pre-dawn light casts a cool blue hue over the cobblestones of a quiet Florentine alleyway near the Ponte Vecchio. An elderly artisan in a worn wool coat leans against a weathered stone wall, polishing a brass loom shuttle with a soft cloth before the shops open. The intricate metalwork of the shuttle catches the faint ambient glow reflecting off the Arno river in the distance. Across the narrow street, the stone arches of a historic viaduct stand silent, while the silhouette of a passing early morning tram blurs slightly against the mist.
