Shoring Jack Stack and Damp Plywood at Dawn in along a scaffolded facade near Amritsar

Shoring Jack Stack and Damp Plywood at Dawn

by Rhett Harvey

Deep shadow covers the lower section of a metal shoring jack stack while a sharp rim light cuts across the upper threads. Thick plywood sheets lean against the vertical supports, their surfaces slick with recent rain. Cold air settles on the wet wood, darkening the grain and reflecting the faint grey of the pre-dawn sky. The turn of the season shows in the muted tones of the timber and the damp sheen on the steel. Along the scaffolded facade near Amritsar, rust spots mark the joints. A drop of water rests on the tip of a threaded rod at the edge of the frame.
