Rain streaks blur the interior of a cramped corner shop on Dame Street, where damp wool coats hang from hooks beside shelves of bright ceramic mugs and local craft beers. Through the glass, the grey dusk light catches finger smudges on the pane, distorting the view of a woman in a yellow raincoat standing outside, holding a plastic bag of groceries. Inside, a wooden counter shows flour dust on dark stone near a stack of hand towels, while a spindle chair sits empty in the dim back room.
