A narrow Nairobi alleyway glistens under the heavy, grey light of dusk as rain falls in steady sheets. The scene is anchored by a small, open-air kiosk where a vendor stands under a corrugated metal awning, shielding a stack of white styrofoam boxes and a few glass tumblers from the downpour. The wet asphalt reflects the dim yellow glow of a nearby streetlamp, creating long, distorted streaks of light across the puddles. In the background, a faded blue door with peeling paint marks a residential entrance, while a coiled black hose lies abandoned near the curb.
