Sextant Fabric Metal on Library Table

Golden sunset light pools across a dusty wooden table in a Gonaïves library, illuminating the brass components of a sextant. The instrument rests beside rolled parchment charts, their edges frayed with age. A surreal transformation occurs where the metal frame of the sextant bends and drapes like heavy grey fabric, creating deep, soft folds that defy rigid physics. These fabric-like metal folds catch the warm ambient glow, against the sharp, rigid edges of the rolled charts nearby. Dust motes hang suspended in the shafts of light falling from an unseen window. Lamplight settles into the corners of the room, casting soft shadows behind the draped instrument. The brass hinge remains a solid circle amidst the flowing metal folds. One shadow falls across the chart's edge.
