A narrow alleyway in Seville’s Santa Cruz district glows under flat noon light, where white-washed walls meet deep shadow. Sunlight slices through an overhead trellis, casting a sharp, geometric stripe across the worn terracotta floor tiles. A wrought-iron gate, painted in faded red lacquered wood, stands slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of a quiet interior courtyard. On the threshold, a small ceramic jar with a metal lid rests near a cluster of overripe persimmons, their orange skins against the dusty stone. A vine curls loosely over the gate’s edge, its green leaves catching the diffused light.
