Serving Boy in Delhi
Sunlight spills across a narrow Delhi alleyway, illuminating a street-side tea stall where a vendor balances a stack of chipped ceramic cups in a metal crock. A young boy in a bright yellow shirt laughs while reaching for a glass, his hand brushing against a hanging clothesline strung with drying white shirts and blue saris. Behind him, a scrap basket overflows with crumpled newspaper and plastic wrappers, against the smooth, wet tiles of the counter. The warm morning light catches the steam rising from a large aluminum kettle, casting long, soft shadows against the peeling yellow paint of the adjacent wall. A stray cat sits calmly on a low stool, watching the commotion with indifferent eyes.
