Securing Door in Oaxaca

Mist rests on the cobblestone street of Oaxaca’s historic center, softening the vibrant yellow stucco of a colonial building facade. A street vendor adjusts a heavy iron latch on a wooden door, the metal cold and damp in the dawn chill. Beside him, a woven basket sits on the ground, its rough fibers catching the faint, diffused light filtering through the fog. The scene is quiet, with no crowds yet, only the vendor preparing for the day. The wet stones reflect the muted colors of the surroundings, creating a textured interplay of light and shadow. The vendor’s hands move with practiced ease, securing the door against the morning dampness.
