A Schapendoes stands centered on a weathered wooden porch, its long, wavy coat rippling in the calm, clipped grass of a small Ipswich yard behind it. The dog's distinctive feathered ears frame a muzzle with soft, textured fur, while the shade from the overhang softens the light on its face. In the foreground, a rough stone ledge holds a terracotta pot where a fern casts a dappled shadow across the wood grain. To the right, a pair of faded orange oven mitts hangs from a hook, their fabric worn from use. The scene is lit by copper-toned light just before dusk, highlighting the individual strands of the dog's coat and the peeling paint on the porch railing. A brass doorknob near the dog's paw catches the last glow of the day.
