Rusted Laundry Pins in Bristol

A cluster of rusted iron laundry pins clings to a frayed white cotton rope strung across a narrow Bristol alleyway under the flat grey light of midday. The rough, oxidized metal of the pins contrasts sharply with the soft, worn texture of the damp fabric hanging just inches away. Behind the suspended line, the peeling blue paint of a Victorian terrace wall reveals layers of older plaster and brickwork beneath. One drop of rainwater hangs from the tip of the nearest pin, reflecting the dull sky above.
