Rain-slicked terracotta tiles on a narrow Palermo balcony glisten under the soft, diffused first light after a storm. A cluster of potted basil and rosemary plants sits on the wet stone ledge, their leaves heavy with water droplets. The deep green foliage contrasts sharply with the rust-colored pots and the gray, overcast sky reflected in the puddles below. One raindrop rests on the tip of a basil leaf, trembling slightly in the damp morning air.
