Rio Carnival Dancer in Morning Drizzle and Shadow

Pale sunrise light cuts a sharp rim across the wet pavement of a Rio street procession, leaving the dancer in deep shadow. An elaborate feathered headdress rests on the figure's head, its long plumes heavy with raindrops that rest on the vibrant tips. The wet feathers hang low, their colors muted by the gray morning sky and the light drizzle falling across the scene. Beside the dancer, blurred storefronts fade into the mist, while the slick ground reflects the faint glow of the early day. One drop slides down the edge of a blue feather, marking the boundary between the bright edge of light and the deep shadow.
