Cool blue twilight washes over the harbor edge in Cajamarca, casting deep shadows across weathered stone walls. An elderly man stands at eye level, his face etched with decades of silence. His eyes lock forward with an intense, thousand-yard focus, reflecting the fading gray sky above. Dry season leaves skitter across the wet pavement in gusts, caught in the sudden movement of the air. The rough texture of his worn jacket contrasts with the smooth, damp surface of the harbor railing beside him. One dry leaf rests against his boot, motionless in the gathering dark.
