Beside it, a small pager device rests in a charging cradle, connected by a coiled black cord that loops neatly across the smooth laminate. The monsoon season outside softens the harsh glare, leaving the interior in a state of practical calm. Leading lines formed by the counter's edge and the curtain folds draw the eye directly to the charging station. A faint reflection of the ceiling grid shimmers on the charger's plastic rim.
